Talena Sanders at San Fran Cinematheque’s Crossroads

Talena Sanders was one of twelve students from Duke’s MFAEDA Class of 2013 who flew to Las Vegas last spring to seek, capture, and record the city in two days. This became the project, 48 Hours in Las Vegas, for which Sanders produced the short film The Fort – “at the place where Las Vegas was founded, a small group of men and women hold forth against an ever-encroaching culture of hyper-modernity. The Soldiers of the Fort inhabit the oldest structure in Las Vegas, reenacting the Civil War in a settlement that saw no combat.”

The Fort will screen as part of Crossroads 2013, a festival presented by San Francisco Cinematheque at the Victoria Theatre. The festival opens Friday, April 5 at 6:59pm, with Sander’s film screening on Sunday, April 7. The full line-up is available here.
