Photographer and media artist LaToya Ruby Frazier will give an artist’s talk on Tuesday, February 12 at the Center for Documentary Studies. Frazier will discuss her series Campaign for Braddock Hospital (Save Our Community Hospital), which debuted at the 2012 Whitney Biennial and is on view, through February 23rd, at CDS.
The MFAEDA is excited to host Frazier as a visiting artist. During her stay, MFAEDA students will meet with Frazier individually and collectively to discuss her work and to receive critical feedback about their own.
Frazier is the associate curator for the Mason Gross Galleries of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. She was appointed Critic in Photography at the Yale School of Art in 2012, while concluding the year with a solo gallery showing at Art Basel Miami Beach. A retrospective exhibit of her work will open at the Brooklyn Museum in March, followed by a show at the Contemporary Art Museum Houston in June 2013.
