The Deep Blue Sea Exhibition: Winter Forum Artists-in-Residence

WFImage

Before the start of the 2013 spring semester, three MFAEDA students–Kristin Bedford, Caitlin Kelly and Jennifer Stratton–spent two and a half days in Beaufort, NC as artists-in-residence at Duke’s 2013 Winter Forum. The forum is a non-credit experience that brings together undergraduates, graduate/professional students, alumni and faculty to explore a single global issue from a multitude of perspectives. The 2013 Winter Forum, Blue Devils and the Deep Blue Sea, focused on issues relating to the world’s oceans and management.

Bedford, Kelly and Stratton were an active part of the winter forum’s dynamic atmosphere, working effectively and artistically to communicate issues that were addressed in Beaufort. On Thursday, February 28 they will present work that draws on their experience at the forum.

The 2013 Winter Forum and subsequent exhibition are supported by the Provost’s Office, the Office of Undergraduate Education, the Nicholas School of the Environment-Marine Lab and the MFAEDA program.
