MFA|EDA Director Tom Rankin & the American Folklore Society

Congratulations to Tom Rankin, documentary photographer, Duke University professor of the practice in Art, Art History and Visual Studies, Center for Documentary Studies educator, and director the the MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts at Duke University. At this year’s American Folklore Society annual meeting in Minneapolis, Tom Rankin was designated for induction as an American Folklore Society Fellow, along with Galit Hasan-Roken (Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Diane N’Diaye (Smithsonian Institution), and Jo Radner (Independent Folklorist; Professor, retired, American University),

“The Fellows of the American Folklore Society is an honorary body of folklorists, whose election to the Fellows signifies their outstanding contributions to the field. Members of the Fellows have produced a significant number of important articles, books, and other scholarly productions or exhibitions on folklore, and have provided meritorious service to the Society and the discipline of folklore studies.” – American Folklore Society
